From Victim Mentality to Resiliency, How Not to Fall into the Trigger Warning Trap
As a mental health advocate, I've seen the impact of the philosophy of victimhood and how it can leave us feeling powerless and stuck. Through this episode, we will dive into the role of mindfulness in retraining our brains to offer a different perspective, cultivating resilience, and empowering ourselves to overcome obstacles and challenges.
Victims, Volunteers, Change
Exploring personal power and personal responsibility as cornerstones of good mental health through the quotes of best selling author, change artist, and mental health professional Dr. Robert Anthony.
Empowered Resiliency, Victim Mentality, Inadequate Positivity
In this week's episode I confront and dismantle a popularized 'toxic positivity' message. I advocate for radical ownership and personal responsibility as the path to increased emotional freedom and peace. Also discuss the therapist and client relationship and responsibilities of each.
Mindfulness Vs Hypervigilance
In this week’s episode we discuss mindfulness vs hyper vigilance, breaking down defensiveness, and explore how to use beautiful stubbornness.
The Difference Between Surviving Trauma and Identifying with it.
I'm reintroducing myself to our new listeners and discussing the difference between surviving trauma and identifying with trauma, resisting victim mentality, the process of leaning in to learn, overtime, and the difference between intuition and anxiety to ultimately gain more energy by using intuition as the tool it was meant to be.
Roadblocks, Mistakes, Shame, Opportunity
This episode is about taming the destructive victim story of the dysfunctional ego to use roadblocks, mistakes, and struggle to grow our worth, esteem, and resiliency. It is a sign of great maturity and emotional evolution when we can practice gratitude when things are not going our way. We do this work because life is struggle but we do not have to suffer. Why 'I Can't' is the poison that perpetuates toxic Victim Mentality
Letting go of victim mentality feels like pulling our own head our of our ass.....when we do we realize it's not so dark and gross. Your pain is not your life; pain is just your pain. One of my all time favorite lines from The Shawshank Redemption is 'Get Busy living, or Get busy dying.' What are you going to do this week, to live more? How will you show up for yourself? How will you face what you are justifying hiding from, and transcend your own limiting beliefs.
